Sunday Confessions

Once again, I'm linking up with Alyx for Sunday Confessions!

1. I haven't posted much this week because I've been boggled down with schoolwork, research and making these little guys:

I'll be writing more about them in a future post!

2. My favorite part of the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics was the Mr. Bean sketch. I don't know if that means I'm immature, or I just have a weird sense of humor.

3. My sister says that I'm going to be like this lady for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Yes, I really want to see the Opening Ceremony in person, but hopefully I'm not that crazy?

4. I bought my first MCAT book, and it's got me terrified. I'm planning to take my test on April 27th, 2013, so I've got nine months to study for it.

5. Is it bad that I'm done with summer? I can't wait to spend a fall Sunday at Starbucks, reading an epic book instead of a beach read and sipping on a pumpkin spice latte.

How are you all liking the Olympics so far? What did you think of the opening ceremony?

  1. Heads up for MCAT study suggestions -- I bought Barron early too and it's not great! I would stick with exams krackers, especially for the verbal reasoning section. Also most applicants like to use either the Princeton review or Kaplan to aid their studying as well, so check those out. For an early review though, I'd suggest examkrackers.

    Good luck!

Oh! And the Olympics are great so far! I'm going to have to YouTube the Mr Bean skit!

    1. Yeah I just wanted something to use to get an overview about everything I learned. Thanks SO MUCH for the tip about Barron's though! I just picked it up on a whim, but now I think I'm going to take it back and try out examkrackers--I've never heard of it before, but I'll take your advice! I think I'm going to shell out some money too for the Kaplan review guides as soon as my test gets closer.

And you gotta YouTube the Mr Bean skit! It's great.

    2. Hey Becky, no prob! I did the same thing with Baron, like I said! I think your decision to get EK is a good one.

      Best of luck!
Oh, and there might be changes to the MCAT in the future! Make sure to look out for those:

    1. I've never heard of the ukcat before! Ugh I hate standardized tests. Here most people take the ACT or SAT before college, then the GRE, MCAT, LSAT, etc. towards the end of college depending on what post-undergrad program they want to go into.

I loved how London didn't try to out-do Beijing with their opening ceremony--they were trying to be themselves and teach the word about their culture :)

  3. Oh man, I must have missed the Mr. Bean thing!

  4. Good luck with your MCAT prep. I took the GRE a few years ago and hated all the extra prep and studying on top of classes, but it's so worth it when you get to go into a field you love.

I'm so with you on the over summer part. I want to wear long sleeves and cute jeans and drink gingerbread lattes already!

    Have a wonderful week!

    1. Thanks so much! I know it's going to be worth it in the end, but it's such a pain now, studying for classes AND the big test.

Oooh and I forgot about the gingerbread lattes (a shame, I know.) Those are absolutely amazing!

    1. Isn't it crazy? I saw it on Yahoo! and it gave me a laugh. Guess some people REALLY want to go to the Olympics, no matter the cost.

    1. Me too! I'll get to the olympics someday. I'll just do it the right way and buy tickets for the events instead of crashing the Parade of Nations :)

  8. Mr. Bean was my favorite part of the Opening Ceremonies too! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I couldn't agree more about being done with summer - give me a latte, cute sweater, and a good (non-beach) read and I'll be happy!

    1. Glad people loved Mr. Bean too...I thought people would think I was a freak for saying that he was my fav part of the ceremonies, hehe. I'm looking forward the most to non-beach reads, I think. I love chick lit like the next girl, but I miss all those epic novels I've been dying to read!
